Drinker Moth Caterpillar in my garden.

Probably because we don't now have cats, we've had many more birds in, and nesting in, the garden - including at least 1 pair of robins which have built their nest in the ivy on the fence, and only about 5m from the conservatory doors.

This one is thus a regular visitor to the plum tree just opposite the nest - it knows we are watching, and so it watches us until it thinks we are not looking, and then flies into it!

Any idea what species the dead (?) spider is?



PS: this cropped version is quite sharp but the original is much sharper still (Pentax K-70 1/640s F6.3, ISO 2000 + Pentax-DA 55-300mm F4.5-6.3 ED PLM WR RE @280mm)!

That looks more like a Carrion Crow, Ravens are much heavier set and are massive.

Definitely a Raven you can tell by the hook at the end of the bill look at my photo more closely also the Raven here is nearly twice the size of the Crows,
The Carrion Crow does not have the hook at the end of the bill.

Thanks, I don't mind them being on the sycamore trees as they are just as prolific.
