Hi everyone,
I am new to this forum and satellites in general. I am usually a quick study though but have been getting confused with talk about multi switches etc.
All I really want to do is be able to watch the footie whilst the bairns watch their films and cartoons etc.
For this to happen I know I will need 3 recievers.
As the football and films are generally on different satellites (from what I gather) I may need to be able to access more than one satellite at the same time. This is not imperitive though.
The main thing I need is to be able to watch 3 different programs on 3 different recievers. It would also be a bonus if I could record on at least one of these and 1 must be HD compatible for the sitting room tv.
I have nothing set up at the moment though I will be bringing in someone who quoted £115 to do the set up as long as I provide the equipment and do the internal (inside the house) wiring.
So far I have a 1.1m dish
***** superior dark motor Diseqc H-H mount
titanium quad lnb o.1
60m cabling
Dish mount and pole settings
At present I only have a Humax VACI 5300i reciever
My questions are these:-
Do I need anything else like multi switches etc?
Do I have to get the same manufacturer model recievers as my existing one to watch tv in 3 rooms?
Initially I thought that if I ran 2 cables from 2 lnb's to the sitting room reciever I could then record, and then 1 cable to bedroom a from lnb and another to bedroom b from the final lnb.
But reading the forums, the whole multi switch thing has confused me.
Thanks ever so much to anyone who wants to help and I know its lengthy so also thank you for taking the time to read it.
