I admit i never sent the dish to 5w, as it was pointing to 13e i moved the motor and dish manualy till i got the signal, got it good quality the set it. It'a not picking up other sats straight away in usuals, i need to send the dish then i need to come out of usuals and tweak the signal that way, get a good signal, save then it seems to loss it when i check it later. You said Rob--Assuming that you actually sent the dish to 5W before adjusting the dish/motor --would doing this manualy not be the same thing or even better. As in move the dish and motor to get the signal not send it 1st, i thought if i send it 1st then the motors off 0. Can you not get a good signal on 5w and still be of the arc when you sweep. The house opp ?....you got me thinking, i did think about it and looked at all the sky dishes in the area, my sky dish is lower but a few feet back. And as its getting a strong signal there and was getting a strong signal at 13e i assumed it was ok. I wanted it higher and it could go higher but i dont have the ladder, the nerve to mess about at the top of my roof. I looked at the obsatcles in sat antenna software, you put the distance to it and the height it gives you an elevation angle.......but from then i dont understand. If it's , well not if it is set right and i'm def clear to the west but it's not finding even these straight off....i looked at a word doc--Aligning motorised dish to arc of satellites--and on the doc it's got diagrams The Elevation is too high The Elevation is too Low North/South axis too far East North/South axis too far West Could any of these be the problem... I'm thinking now--Mark why did you even try this--lol...but i did and thats it.
