Hello All

Im having my satellite package installed next week.

I know a fair bit about the satellite dish setup etc, however I need some help.

I want to get 15 degrees west, for satellite TELESTAR 12.

Lat: 52.504
Long: 1.779
Satellite - (-15)

So my Azimuth angle (deg) is 199.99
Polarization angle is 12.1
Elevation angle (deg) is 28.66

Now, I get a bit confussed. Do i point my satellite at 199.99 degrees or 15 degrees west or what?

Please see this picture of the compass - Is this (black line) where 15 degrees west?? If not where is it?

Thanks

Your longitude looks wrong for West Midlands, would have though it would have been a negative figure. but based on your figures, the picture below is correct.

Go on to Lyngsat.com and click on Atlantic/SatTracker, click the satellite you want, when the image of the world is displayed, use your mouse and click where in the world you live. When the red dot appears where you live, there will be a reading of Azimuth, and Elevation. Find the azimuth number on your compass, this is where the dish will point. And then ajust the elevation to what it tells you... Simple. Hope this helps.
