Wanted Need Vbox

If you don't mind paying a premium Satellite Superstore have them. They do pop up on eBay from time to time, as do receivers with integrated positioners.

whats the catch with missing 5v ?
 
Motors with optical sensors for counting (rather than a reed sensor) require 5v. Some actuators and (I think) Fibo dish motors have them.
 
All V-boxes I have seen in the field have a 5v regulator somewhere inside.

When I had the old NEC 5000 Rx in the early 1990's I needed 12V for the external frequency shifter, so I tapped 12V off the internal regulated 12V rail to a new socket on the rear panel - similar approach should work for 5V.
