My Satellite Setup
just about to set up motorised rig
My Location
oldham lancashire UK
I am new to motorised rigs and I need some help. the setup I am looking at uses digipro exel tv by satcatcher usals/diseq, is this ok for a beginner and I must mention I intend to get an installer to get me set up and running. Another question, can I use a sky digibox with motorised dish?

You cant use a sky box to drive a motor no - theres not even basic disecq enabled on a sky box.

You could (just about) use another receiver to drive the motor and connect the digibox to a secondary output on the lnb. However you wont be able to watch anything on 28E whilst using the motor.

We recommend having a small dish specifically for Sky boxes and keeping them well away from hobby installs - they can get "cranky" if they are off 28E for too long!

Sorry, not sure what you are asking. If you are buying an installation meter, why do you need an installer?

A Sky digibox does not have DiSEqC motor control.

Once you have the receiver talking to the dish by whatever movement protocol, the system will work until it goes wrong. That is when you may need more than the beginners certificate.

Get your installer to fit the kit, make sure you have all the channels you can get in your location, and see if he can show you through the steps of resetting (reference/zero) and adding satellites. Take notes and pay him the extra hour or two.
