Hi all! Last summer I've made concrete 8x3m platform. Wish to build a roof over it this year. There will be 6x3m metal vertical poles. As bases for poles I'm going to fix to the concrete 6 pieces 200x200x12mm metal plates. So, today I've cut those 6 plates from bigger pieces of metal. It is nice that it is not so cold outside an I could do cutting outside the garage.

I bet the good lady thought to herself "Oh no chance...." When you laid that foundation lol

In two days I will bring home metal pipes 100x100x4mm and 100x50x4mm for frame. 6 Metal plates will be connected to concrete pad by 5 anchors (12mm threaded rods glued in the concrete).

OpenBox X5 on a 1 meter motorized dish.

I would have used square tubing as it's easier to use for attaching any type of roofing or side sheathing, using round tubing can cause any type of fastener or drill to slip off to one side or the other, have built many many sheds and car ports over the years and have had many problems with the steel tubing types.

OK I didn't quite understand as you did say pipe, to me that meant round pipe or tubing......Sorry......My fault.

Some progress is made on a new-car-shed project. Metal tubes are already arrived (heavy stuff) IMG_20180521_111006 (Large).jpg . Drilled 24x14mm holes ~12cm deep and glued anchors, then cut remainings, welded and made surface look nice.

Well, main frame is more or less finished. But Now I am little bit stuck as I do not have clear plan for going ahead. 3m poles in reality so high that I can probably build another floor (where I put yellow line) and then I will have lots of storage space under the roof of the shed. In thi storage space I can easily store stack of bags with pellets for my new heating stove. Also other stuff can be stored there. And I still did not decide what kind of roof will be there. So, lots of thinking should be done.

Look for something called ""R-36 Panels"", they make for some very nice siding and roofing.

I did my whole shop with them, walls and roofing.

Just put up some 1"x1" square tubing (14 gauge) on 24 inch centers and your set.

Here is some info on them.

Made a little progress here. Clearance between the floor and the first floor is 210cm, should be enough to go under by any "normal" car.
