newbe help wanted please for sky set up. please please please help

hey all

i am a newbee to this and do not hav much of a idea what is going on but really need some help please.

i hav been living in belgium for work and finally brought over my sky box and a newly bought dish from ebay. i fitted up my dish on a south facing wall ( as i googled and this is what i found) and installed everything.

i hav a sky plus box which i got given from a friend.

1st thing, i have on my reciver there are 4 outputs for the arial, which one do i scew into to run to my sky box or do i use 2? if so which one or ones do i use??

also i looked on some forums for the interface locking problem. it says on my signal screen that i am not locked, how do i get this locked?

and then can any one help me what diretion to point my dish please.

sorry for this but i really have no idea and after looking on other threds its just confued me. i thought maybe i need to ask u guys as you no what you are talking about.

any help will b much appreciated as i hate sitting at home in the evenings with no tv.

You put two cables from the dish and using screw connectors called f-plugs you connect these to the screw terminals on the back of the receiver. Make sure the dish isnt plugged in when you make or break connections.

You wont get a lock until the dish is correctly installed and aligned onto the satellite cluster at 28E.

which has some great info about installing and aligning dishes. Obviously its for the caravanners, but the same principles apply.


Installing a dish isnt particularly difficult, and we have helped hundreds of folks over the years get their desired tv channels :)
