Hi everyone

As per title very new to all this, after becoming increasingly hacked of with my sky bill i got up this morning and decided to search alternatives. Id like to know what sort of decoder and dish i would need to receive the premier league? and what subscription and cost? suppliers? Nilesat seemed to be the obvious one but noticed on here that it is very difficult to receive a signal.

Regards sean

Several of our forum supporting advertisers can supply alternative satellite subscriptions, have a look in Jimbo's Football and Sport section, there a few threads about what's best for which coverage.

Both 7W and 26 East are both difficult to receive in the UK, requiring up to 2.4m dishes.

Subscription cost - anything from £200/yr for a basic setup giving you a couple of 3pm games to £2k/yr for all the games in HD.

We can only advise what to buy when you decide which service you are interested in.

HOWEVER things are getting complicated at the moment - FAPL are fed up of Brits - and especially pubs - using foreign subs to watch games, and have been working behind the scenes to limit coverage:

Sky Italia - removed the English commentary from 3pm games last year
Tring - we have seen lots of complaints about games being blacked out this season
Viasat Latvia's - showing of 3pms in recent weeks has become erratic.
