I'm a bit new to this, and normally my friend does this and don't always pay attention....but he is on vacation. We both have a Aston simba 202s, that we flash and two cards silver and gold. Both work fine. However my Aston has locked up ( nothing works , stuck on one channel, but TV screen is blank ) and want to flash it again, but don't have a . txt file to do so.
Can anyone offer some advice or whereI can find a file to solve my issue. I coonect to Astra and Hotbird, ( 2 heads on my satalite) which basically gives me TPS and some Canal

So far this site is very nice and well organized.

I have tried re-booting, but the same thing, in fact if I reboot from the power switch holding the power bitton up fromt, I can get to a state, where it asks to load from Aston......which I don't want, so I just say no and shut it off again.

PS. have you tried turning the receiver off at the mains to re-boot?

Might be worth trying to upload the latest OTA software from Aston. If this fails, you may have to JTAG the receiver.

Over The Air - you download software from the transponder on which Aston is sending the data. (Hotbird 12.603H SR22000) Aim your dish at Hotbird and click on 'Yes' in the 'Download From Aston' Menu. May take a while to dowload.

Be aware that this will update the Aston with 'official' software. Any patch that you have will be removed - the only other way, as I said, would be to re-patch to 'Allcam' via the RJ45 to PC method.

I see you are using the Aston Flash program. You can find the latest flash at satdudez in the Aston section.

Which Aston site are you talking about?

I don't want anything from the "official" site.

You may have to register. Go to the Aston section. A link provided by cx1386 will give you the latest 'unofficial' flash. Can't locate any others ATM.
