Hi all. First of all I would like to apologize because I am complete newbie and I might have placed this post in the wrong forum. I never had satellite TV and all the terminology is black magic to me, so that is why I am writing here. I come from Poland and my fiancé from Greece. Both of us we live in United Kingdom and we got bored of standard 4 channels and we miss our own TV. We are planning to buy 2 subscriptions: Polish Cyfra + and Greek Nova (2 Smart cards). Now, I have heard that it is possible to have receiver for 2 Smart cards connected to 1 TV and 1 Dual or Quad something Satellite dish. I know that Cyfra + works on this satellite

Before I buy those subscriptions I need to know what kind of equipment I am going to need to make both Greek and Polish channels to work on 1 TV at the same time.

Hi, you will need a receiver that will accept both cards, eg The TM5400CI+.
(has one card slot and one CAM slot)

The Nova card should work in the card slot (the receiver may need patching first). I have seen one working fine.

As for the Cyfra+ you may need to get a seca2 CAM so that the card can be read, and so that it can be slotted together with the CAM into the wider slot on the receiver.

You just need a smallish 60cm dish and a single LNB for the above.
 
vincenty82 , hello from Greece. I suggest you get a receiver with 2 CI slots and buy two CAMs.

As far as it concerns the Greek smartcard, you should buy a purple Irdeto2 CAM with softcell 2.26.
Nova has 4 transponders (at the end of the year there will be 5): 11.823, 12.169, 11.938 at Hotbird 8 and 10.930 at Hotbird 9. All are horizontal, 27.500, 3/4.

But go for the 80cm option, and a decent installer if you can stretch to it.
