Is there a section in this forum for newbie's like myself, who want to learn, but don't know where to start?

I saw on .ppt on changing the MM to MR, but it's in french, and my french is a little rusty.

I have a MM CAM, with Penta 1.09 on it, and I want to open Nagra encrypted TV. Do I need a smartcard for the CAM? or Does the CAM have to be changed to MR?

I'm at a total loss....Could someone point me in the right direction, PLEASE!!!!
 
MM to MR

>Insert the Magic cam into the CAS2 programmer
>Start the cas studio software and click on Magic cam picture
>Click on Connect
>Click on Erase all
>load xilinx > Matrix Cas
>Click on Open file and select MR bin file,1.071 for instance
>Click on Write.

Remove the cam,insert the cam into the receiver.

Thanks for the quick reply. But is that I need to do....Change a Magic CAM into a Matrix CAM? I won't need any smartcards to go into the CAM??
 
No smartcards needed. Just follow the instructions given, but make sure you have the latest *.bin file
 
Thanks....but one more question, or maybe two. What is the latest .bin (1.071???), and where can I find it?

hey guys i'm brand new to all this i'm still trying to find a smartcard reader for nagra 4.1
where could buy one?

i have the program nagra edit 4.1 and after i don't know much i still learning what would be the best way to learn? try out and errr? lol
 
hey guy just got a The SCM SwapSmart SCR111 RS232 (Serial) can i use this for the nagra 4.1 edit? need help bad. i would really appreciated
