My Satellite Setup
? next vision ?
hello i'm a new member and i have a question.
I have this next vision decoder and i like it verry much
because i can watch a couple of nice channels like TPS, multivision, NBA+, premiership, ... But it's kind of weird because i don't have a card or anything and i can receive all these channels, but i wanted to have more channels and when i asked the person in the store if he has a good card for my decoder and he said i don't need a card because my decoder has it all:confused. When these channels are hacked, all he does is using his computer and conects it to my decoder to get these channels back. But i would like to have more channels than just these french channels. maybe anybody could give me a explenation because i'm realy confused and new to this. Ooh yeah and maybe you could tell me wich program this guy might used to (flash) my decoder? thank you verry much.

Have moved your post to an appropriate section.

What type of dish do you have? Is it motorised?

Does the receiver have a card or CAM slot?

What else do you want to receive?

PS. I think you need to do a lot more reading before you consider flashing your receiver, at least to understand what you are doing.

Not every encryption is hacked, so your receiver flash will only enable reception of the the ones which are, hence being able to receive the Taquilla channels and Multivisions, but not others..

The list of those which are and aren't is changing all of the time, TPS, Earlier Viaccess, some S*ca2 (Mediaguard) are, Early Nagravision, not later versions, some Cryptoworks with specialist (expensive) cards and possible some irdeto, but not sure what.

i wouldnt buy a card at the moment with everything changing the way it is.

Alot of the channels have moved to an encryption that hasnt been hacked, so no-one, even people using a card cant get them.

you just need to find out where to get the latest firmware from. try:

hXXP.www.sat-key.org
HXXP.www.sismanturk.de

or request it on this board.

check www.lyngsat.com for channels you can get

Keys are used to 'unlock the encrption of certain channels'. There a re different encryptions so there are also different keys. The service providers change the keys every so often to try to beat illegal viewers. The keys soon become availble for users to enter into there boxes via the remote.
Firmware is the software on the main chip of your sat box. This will hold the keys to allow the unlocking of certain encryptions. meaning you wont have to input the keys via your remote control. As the keys change you will need to change the keys held in the firmware by ' flashing the chip' with the new firmware once it becomes available. you do this by connecting your box via the d-pin socket on the back of the box to you seriel socket of your pc. you connec them using an RS232 cable which can be bought from most electrical/computer shops.

i had a quick scan around for some firmware but i couldnt find any mention of your box. maybe check some fo the links from this board and ask around in some forums
