nhk tokoyo live uhd 8k

Is there a way to watch this 8K broadcast in Europe?

There are some 8k tests on Youtube, though this PC display is unable to do much that is useful with them.

When it comes to sport, higher resolutions are wasted on sample and hold type displays. Higher frame rates would give a much clearer moving image. For the same bandwidth as 8K 4320p60 you could have 4K 2160p240.

Only as long as the incoming signal is unobstructed by restrictions in the chain.

Everything from the outgoing broadcast down to the final HDMI connection to the monitor has to function perfectly for uninterrupted freeflow imagery.

A couple of articles below

Another thing I don't like about sports broadcasts these days is when they blend the frames together from a slo-mo camera in order to make one frame/field for live 50hz coverage. Like this one from yesterday's cricket, three frames (presumably from a 150fps camera) have been blended together:

I think you'll be lucky to find HD/4K satellite feeds from the Olympics this year, let alone 8K. All hidden behind NS4 :(

Looks like that receiver and the TVs required are literally just 4 4K displays in one unit with consumers expected to plug in 4 hdmi cables. Hope the software lets you manage any sync issues between the quadrants.

Sort of stuffs the consumer viewing options unless one has four 4k monitors with no bevels.

Pre HDMI 2.1 the only way to get 8K 4320p60 into a consumer 8K television (they do exist) from an external receiver was via 4 HDMI ports. Otherwise with HDMI 2.0 you are limited to 8K 30hz.

Not so bad with a cable like above! Nice and tidy.

As Ozumo infers, HDMI 2.1 should have made such a cable design redundant.

Now available for just over a fiver, or am I missing something ?

After a quick search (which may not be accurate) the first TVs with HDMI 2.1 came out in 2019. NHK 8K started in late 2018 so at the time 4x HDMI 2.0 was the only option for early adopters.
