Apparently Ransomeware that has been deployed ..
3 days to pay ..or everything goes..
Bstds ...
I hope the perpetrators all get Ffffing Cancer and can't see a doctor..

Everybody at my company is in total panic mode. Pre-emptive panic but panic nevertheless.

Posted my comment, mistakenly, in the Telefonica ransomeware forum - but my thoughts are still the same.

NSA originated tool, bet $ky News still get a "Russia did it.." angle lol

Well ..I hope I've done enough ..
took me about 4 hours+ to virus check and make sure I had all updates and patches installed for every post XP machine I have ..
thats 2 laptops ...and 8 PCs ...
Time to chill for a bit now..
Better to be safe etc ..etc..
Must do Dads lappy tomorrow..
;)

Could be Elvis Patel ...

not sure which one tho'
lol

In a loosely related story I woke up to a email from PayPal this morning about suspending my account as they had detected suspicious logins, shat my pants I did! [emoji51]

Ebay selling a fine range of 'pants' for those 'loosely' moments..
but might look suspicious if you pay by paypal tho'
????
;)

At least I was wearing pants at the time or it would be a new mattress I'd be on the hunt for! lol

Was actually them (PayPal) a login from the Bristol area....those cider drinking b@stards lol Screenshot_2017-05-13-01-06-27.webp

Found this, liked it, thought I'd share: nsadata.webp

Maybe now the NHS will be forced to jettison all the winxp computers they are still running & get a more modern operating system on them.

This hole has been patched by Microsoft in March, so patched systems won't be affected (famous last words).

Sadly, the last time we did patching at my company was in October/November..... Next due in July.

Just been to morrisons, the parking meters are out of action. My fading memory thinks that they may run on XP.Have they been hit for a ransom.:)

Probably unrelated ..
but woke this morning to find No power in my house ..
This happens when there has been a power cut ...requiring me to manually re-set the main trip in the consumer unit ..
The load at surge if everything tries to come on at once ..
But that's an issue I'm aware of ..
Point is ..why did we suffer an outage last night.?
My neighbour was woken to alarms in the area going off for some time ...
I slept through it..
Maybe there was a major re-set of the distribution network ?
A bit far fetched maybe ..but could it be related?
I do watch an awful lot of sci-fi so have a wild imagination.
lol

I know Tesco use or have used Win XP, because the self-service tills have occasionally crashed reverting to XP's startup screen, when I have used them in my local store.

I think that most of the ATMs are still on XP too.
Time to get a lump of cash out maybe.:D

Sorry, meant Asda. Perhaps Tesco too?
