Hi, I have a _http://www.maplin.co.uk/directional-dome-5.8ghz-video-sender-kit-518136 . The ir has never worked with the sky hd box but i used an old IR from an old 2.4ghz sender i had which worked until it got hoovered up and broke. I needed a solution and found that if i bought a sky link i could make it work. So i bought one from ebay and connected it to the RF2 output in the back of my hd box. I then selotaped the nikkai ir receiver to the sky link so they were pointing at each other.

All worked well for a couple of weeks, I could happily change channels upstairs again but recently it's been very temperamental and now, the only way it works is if the sky remote is pressed against the nikkai receiver in the bedroom.

I've moved things around but no joy.

Has anyone got any advice? It's driving me mad! My first thought is that there is some dodgy equipment, either the receiver upstairs, the IR mouse or the sky link.

New batteries for your Sky Telecommander?

I must admit i've thought that but both my Sky HD remote and Sky + remote (which i use upstairs) work downstairs fine.

Do you have an CFL lamps in the same room? They chuck out all sorts of mush that can mess up IR transmission.

Sorry - excuse my ignorance, what are CFL lamps? If these are normal lamps then my girlfriend has feckin loads of em!

Compact Fluorescent ..... "Energy Saving"

would they have to be on to interfere? Because we do have a lamp in the front room with an energy saving bulb in it and one in the bedroom but neither were on when we tried to work it.

Yes, they would need to be on!

Yeah thought so, ok so it can't be the lights then as they're not on and its still not working. Someone on another forum has suggested instead of plugging the magic eye straight into the back of the HD box, i connect the two via a coax cable which is double shielded so i'll try that as well.
