Where's 102 supposed to be?,if it was 6W or thereabouts I'd have to move my dish ,definitely, as I'm sensitive to 0.1-0.2 degrees.
Earlier it was supposed to be around 6ºW but anytime a satellite is being retasked it is impossible to track using a mathmatical formula and TLE's. Anyway the point was that if it (nilesat 102) were on the move any transmissions would have already been switched off.

Yeah - as Huevos says the orbital predictions tend to be wayward once a satellite starts moving - predictions are designed for something in a regular orbit not under external influences / control. It can take anything up to a fortnight for the tracking data to catch up once a bird moves.

Lets say 102 may be around 6.81W but there is now a margin of error.

Good evening,

Frequency 11938 V 27500 is very much still on Intelsat 102. Right now am receiving both Nilesat 201 @ 7° West and Atlantic bird 2 @ 8 ° West situationally on one offset dish using the same lnb set in the same positon. What i have noted is that satellite maneuver around their orbitally position and this may be the reason to varied signal strength during the course of the day.
So it is possible that Nilesat 102 reception was still coming through even when it had shifted to 6.2 degrees west.

Getting a weak signal on 11738H 27500 at 7W. can't quite lock onto it. Signal has got better through the evening, so hopfully will lock soon. Irte 2.0m dish Invacom 0.3dB lnb, TM6900, SW England.

Update just locked and single channel labelled Nilesat 201 found

Just locked signal on 11728H 27500 as well, labelled the same Nilesat 201. Signal 80-90%, but quality boarderline 44/45%. Will tweak the dish tomorrow and put new lnb on by weekend.

Nearly midnight here but not a sign. Conditions have improved but it's still thin cloud cover. I have all the Horizontal TP's I usually can get, but nothing new. Guess I'll have to wait for a clearer night and try again.

Some hope for us. Would love to swing my 1.8m back round to 7w but fear not getting Badr 6 as strong after much tweaking recently.

The signal stopped at around midnight (UK) last night on 11.738H & 11728H 27500 and when I checked this morning at 8.30am (UK) there was still no signal. So intermittant tests I believe.

Hello renibacterium,

signal from 11727 H is still here in Germany with 220cm. But as I wrote earlier (yesterday), there is no "real TP 11737 H".

Best Regards
qwer.

It seems that the new bird is directed to the MENA region and more african countries rather than the european countries , reports from Sudan , Kenya and Ethyopia mentioned that the signal from nilesat 201 ( 11727 H ) is much stronger than those of 101 and 102 , while in european countries lower signal is reported .
I guess we have to wait for more TPs to be activated to see what happen and to find out the real coverage of the new bird

Not unexpected to be honest - Nilesat need to be seen to be addressing the reasonably easy availability in western Europe of the sports content they carry.

I will start a new thread soon, unfortunately I'm not going to be at home much for the next few days.

Nilesat 101, 102 and Badr 6 are at their weakest in the mornings in the UK so could explain why you are not getting signal this morning.
