Hi,

I just had a flick over to 7.0w to see if anything was getting through, and was amazed to be picking up loads of services (horizonals and verticals), previously not obtainable.

Pretty good for a TD88 in Reading I thought.

I'm just wondering if it's favourable atmospherics, they've increased power, or widened the footprint.

Any thoughts?

Its the new Atlantic Bird 7 - putting a good signal into much of souther Britain.

Yep - check out the couple of AB7 threads that have been running for a few days now :)

That's great news. There's some great sport content available.
Chuffed with that.

hi i live in spain and am interested in looking for nilesat, especially if there are new channels. Can you tell me where i can find a map of the footprint. Some one gave me me a 80cm dish and i have an lnb from some one else, just need to go up on the roof and see what i can find. Do you think an 80cm dish is big enough ? thanks

The "new channels" are on Atlantic Bird 7 .................. Nilesat is old hat (mainly).

Go for it okane. AB7 especially is getting into the UK very well indeed, and Spain is much closer to the edges of the footprints. :)

That was quick and sounds like perfect advice. On another matter i think that its possible to pick up norwegian nrk1 here in spain but i am not sure if its on thor 5, 6 or 2/3. Is 5,6 a replacemant to 2/3 ? Can you shed any light on this ? (This tv stuff is not my line of work but you have to have a bit of knowledge if you want to watch tv here other than spanish).

Please let us know the result one way or the other when you have tried.

Thor 5/6 have indeed replaced 2/3

There are several coverage beams in use off the Thor birds, so its a case of try it & see. The Nordic beam isnt favourable for Spain but the T2 beam seems to be ok.
