[QUOTE="guest poster, post: 573253, member: 262401"] Andrews/ Channel Master are ASC Signal now and the 1.8s & 2.4s use the same model numbers/ design.. 183s & 243s with tx & tx/rx KU & C band feed options .... and the same crude AZ/EL mounts.. see _http://www.ascsignal.com/html/vsat_pdfs.html If you get a used one, try to make sure it was previously installed 100% and follow all the installation docs 100%. If a face/ join seem was installed badly there is no telling if that material could keep a distortion or would spring back 100%, especially if it was exposed to very hot weather while bolted twisted -over tightened for a prolonged period and it's not easy or cheap to test a dish of that size. Their quoted tolerance is .025" (0.63mm) max on the seem and above that won't do (better as near to zero as you can) and the face should not be stressed at any point in installation or over tightened or tightened out of order. If it's used commercially for VSAT etc.. the size would be spec'd at over kill to ensure continuity but on 7w weak Hs in mid UK, everything needs to be 100%. (It's a good idea to grease those- not on a locking surface- use washing up liquid on those). If I got the opportunity/ time I would replace the AZ/EL adjusters for far better engineered equivalents... If you want to try LNBf's on it, the focal length of the feed horn throws it forward 5-10mm so it needs a long neck LNBf like the Edison (or a bit of a mod) to get the best out of LNBfs ....
