Yep, that's a strong Vertical transponder.....and a horizontal Robbo?
 
11919H and 12226H, that's all I can get atm.
 
Robbo, do you get 11900V at all (on a 1m)? (Asking to assess effect of recent fec change)
 
Getting a lock on it, with a signal quality level that would normally provide a stable picture, but with the fec at 5/6 , just got sound coming through and the occasional still frame.
 
Ta. Indeed the baffling thing is that while the signal level is above normal threshold one still has problems with the transponder.

I should have asked a more complete question before: do you get the 11900V during the day or only at night. Having tampered with my set up, I suspect it is not 100% optimised for Nilesat --- which might explain why I don't get 11900V at all during the day ------- unless it is common e.g. if you too don't get it day time.

PS someone I gave your nos (from MBC site) should have called you by now; feller in Plumstead?

Nah, not yet mate, but thanks anyway.

I have only recently moved my dish again, and I thought it was set up pretty well, but I tend to concentrate on the MBCs as that is mainly what I want and with them of course the stonger tps follow, the horizontals of course are just a bonus as and when they are slghtly stronger at certain times in the year.
I may have a look to see if I can get any better on that tp.


Had you mentioned it a couple of days ago, I could have tried on a 1.2m for 11900V, but the dish is now in Lambeth, fixed on badr4.
 
Thanks again; I like keeping an eye on a couple of channels on 11900V; plus, it is my acid test for how well my Nilesat is set up. With the fec change, I have not been able to etablish conclusively whether I have optimal set up or just very very marginally short since my last tinkering.

That's a god tip bigtee, I thought MBC was one of the weakest, but 11900V is weaker, thanks. I will have a tinker too tomorrow.;)
 
Tried tweaking just for 7W 11900V, but was unable to get it any better.
 
Thanks Robbo; maybe leave it alone till it shows signs of coming to life by itself --- which happens some evenings when signal is stronger than other days.

It does seem to be one of the weakest vertical transponders on 7W Nilesat. I get 15 TV & 4 radio channels OK from it on my 2m IRTE dish in SW England with TM6900 Signal 82%, Quality 61%
