So long as you're certain you swopped the bedroom cable on the lnb with one of the working ones, then the problem lies with the cable to the bedroom.

Yes, that's the logical conclusion.

This sort of issue can be caused by crushing, kinking, water ingress etc.

If it's agreed that cable is at fault, it would be best to replace the entire run.

Interesting: Has the white cable feed ever worked fully?

ie Is it a recent addition? Is it actually Satellite grade double-screened coax?

I've checked about 3/4 of the channel list and (with the exception of BBC1, BBC2 and ITV which are region setable) all are H polarisation. A universal LNB needs around 13v for V channels and around 19v for H channels.

What this means is that the LNB, cable and box combination in that one position is not getting the difference when the 13v changes to 19v. Given the fact that it's specifically one place that has the fault then it's most likely to be the cable - perhaps some water has ingressed and allowed some corrosion to build up.

It could also be the LNB which is nearing the end of its life and is getting too fussy about the 19v, although that would go away for the time being if you find and fix the problem on the cable.

all 3 cables where fitted at the same time, and all worked well until this problem started with bedroom box,

a mate (who works for sky) has given me a roll of cable so going to change the bedroom one and see where it goes from there.

An excellent plan. If all three cables were fitted at the same time do you know why one is a different colour?

Before you fit the new cable in position run a temporary connection from the LNB to the box through the window or whatever's easiest.

the reason why 1 is white is because that cable runs along the top of my house and the top of wall is white,

change the bedroom cable today and all is now good,

no sign if brake or cracks in old cable so must be water ingrese.

Excellent work. Don't forget to clip the cable to the wall so it doesn't move and become abraded. Your installer friend should have clips of the right size.

And talking of water ingress, make sure that the plug going on to the LNB is protected by a rubber boot, self-amalgamating tape or, at a pinch, a pull-down cover on the LNB.

I'm glad you got sorted too. I'm sorry my earlier post about Horizontal and Vertical went over your head but it did turn out to be connected with your missing channels, as I suspected.

PaulIR has much more technical knowledge than me on the subject.
