no signal on some channels

Hello All,

right on my fresat box in my bedroom (i have 3 in all 1 in bedroom, 1 in front room, 1 in extention)

the freesat in my bedroom will only show certain channels the others just say no signal,

the other 2 of my fresat boxes are fine picking up all channels,

i have checked conections at both ends of cable and all is good,

could it be my quad LNBF that is faulty?

Quite possibly.

You can prove (or disprove) this by swopping the feeds around at the LNB.
 
Do you have individual cable runs from the lnb to each receiver or do you have splitters installed?
 
So swop the cables around at the LNB in a logical way so you can ascertain if sport is faulty. As you have a spare Port, then your issue might be easily resolved, for now.
 
In that case the chances are one of the ports on the lnb has gone bad.

You can find out if its the lnb of the receiver by swapping the boxes around and seeing if the missing channels is room dependent or box dependent
 
Ok,

i have changed the cables round on the LNB but still the same,

so i am now thinking fault in cable,
 
Have you changed the receivers round? That will be the final clincher.
 
Yes i moved my backroom receiver (which is getting all channels) and swapped it for my bedroom receiver (which was only getting some channels) but still the same.

Is the box able to receive both Vertical and Horizontal transponders? Or are all the missing channels from one polarisation either Vertical or Horizontal?
 
What particular channels are saying No Signal?

Have you tried a Factory Reset on the affected box (or boxes)?

I'm a little unclear still, after the swopping around , whether the fault stays with a box (or boxes) or whether it stays with a given feed (or feeds).
 
done a reinstall,

on re install box says signal strength is 90% and loads 190+ channels but i still get no signal on channels.
 
Lets just go back a bit.When you swopped receivers did the problem stay with the room or the receiver?

So, that seems to rule out the boxes.

Also, you said you'd swopped the feeds - so assuming the issue still stayed with the room, that would appear to narrow the fault down to the final section of cable within the affected room.

Does that room have something like a wall faceplate or some other cable joint?
 
Also, please confirm that

a. Each box has only one feed

b. No feed is split in any way
 
i have 3 freesat box`s

1 freesat HD box in front room

1 freesat box in backroom

1 freesat box in bedroom

all 3 have their own cable feed direct from dish (fitted with quad lnb)

there are no splitters at all

the HD freesat and backroom freesat box`s work fine with no channel lose what so ever.
