My Satellite Setup

Hi guys looking for help on a sky dish setup. I installed these 5 TVs and two sky dishes some 3years ago. They are holiday cottages and folk mess with the cables going into the TVs, so I'm called out to sort them from time to time. Now non of the TVs are getting a signal from the lnb! I replaced one dish as the original one had rusted badly, new lnb, I have a cable I use to connect TV to dish to rule out the existing installed cable. I am getting 8v at lnb, I've taken one TV home and it connects no problem. I used a sat finder on my own dish to check elevations etc and as you can see the new dish is set correctly.What I'm I missing?1000007160.webp1000007159.webp
 
Upload a photo of the dish and LNB, it might be a Sky Q wideband LNB which aren't compatible with televisions' built-in satellite tuners.

Well one dish/lnb I haven't touched so it's original when the three TVs were all working. Some folk here are saying they had to realign their dishes last year to get programmes as they lost them on the Astra 2 . Internet still saying it's the right one for here.
 
Try on the meter 12225 H 27500, it has the original parameters
 
I think 8 volts at the LNB is a bit too low, most run at around 12 volts DC, although I have seen specs for some some as low as 9 volts to run.

Thanks Terryl, funny enought I've just looked at my own settings at home and it says 13/18v. Ok so does that mean a fault with the TV?

That's the DC switching voltage for the satellite transponders, if your not getting at least 12.5 volts DC your LNB may not be able to switch transponders.

Most linear LNB's use 13 volts DC to switch to Vertical transponders and 18 volts DC for Horizontal transponders, if your only getting 8 volts then something is defiantly wrong, at 8 volts all you would be getting (if the LNB was even working at that voltage) are the Vertical transponders.

So if your trying for transponder 11225 H you wont be seeing it.

You also mentioned that this install has 5 TV's and two dishes, so there must be some type of switch involved, am I correct? If so then you may have a blown switch.
 
Ok guys I'm back at the TVs. No volts at the new install so got another TV and getting 13/16volts at lnb. Still no signal. In the TV transponder list there aren't the frequencies you guys are stating. No 12225 H for example if I go to a symbol rate if 27500 it's 11306 frequency. I'm not used to getting this deep into this setup normally it's straightforward for me. Cheers.

Unless a picture has been removed the only dish so far on this thread has a single LNB on it, so are you running an SCR system ?

If so, what are you using to distribute ?

Ah OK.

In the meantime looks likes it was the "Satellite Finder (DishAligner)" by exultation.de available on the APP store for IOS or Play store for Android.
