HI
I have been messing about for over 2 hours and still failed! My problem is as follows, I have purchased a shiny new sat finder (gtmedia V8 finder 2) to help with setting up my satellite when travelling , so I have been messing about today with the sat finder and dish etc , I get a good signal and picture on the sat finder but as soon as i connect the humax box and connect to tv i get a "no signal or signal too weak error" as soon as reconnect the sat meter a perfect picture is shown on the small screen , I have tried 2 older boxes but there seems to be a problem with them as it says if you want hd please ring sky! I guess my old boxes are defunk now then ( a couple of sky boxes and a couple of Pace boxes) I just dont understand whats going on or could my humax box be faulty ? Sorry for the long thread just trying to give as much relevant information as possible
Cheers
Paul

Several issues come to my mind:
- your receiver has only a dvb-s tuner, while your meter has a dvb-s2 capable tuner
- you aligned the dish to the wrong satellite
- the lnb cable to the receiver is broken or the f connectors are bad

Have you tried a Freesat scan on the Humax? There's been a fair amount of transponder changes in the past year or two so if the box hasn't been used for a while it may not have the correct parameters stored. Foxsat HDRs can also have power supply problems,

Hi Vma

Thank you for your reply, I definately have the dish aligned to the right satellite and the cable is brand new CT100 with new connectors BUT the receiver I will have to check out.

Hi ozumo
No I haven't . It's been a while since I messed about with satellite stuff didn't realise so much had changed got a few boxes that are defunk now but the freesat box(humax) is only around 4 years old So I will try a scan like you say . Didn't realise that dvb-s had changred to dvb-s2
thanks for your reply , something else to try at least
