Hi there sorry but I'm new to all this and this site. My brother gave me a Nokia d+ box for satalite with remote. I've read up about this. But I need to know how to use it to get satalite channels. Any Help Appreciated.

Hi davabirkenhead and welcome to the forum.
As a Nokia lover, I hope that I can help you. I have never used a dbox (unless you are referring to any of these models 9200S, 9600S, 9800S).
Assuming that the box is working fine, what you need is a dish (fixed or motorized), Universal LNB, coaxial cable running from the LNB to the receiver's LNB input and then connecting the SCART output to your TV.
And also mounting bits and pieces (pole, brackets, etc.)
This is the short story. The rest is entirely up to you if you want to get an installer or DIY.
for DIY, you need to go through the forum's threads and posts.
If you need more assistance, someone will be always happy to help you.
The dbox is probably an FTA=Free To Air model, meaning you won't be able to receive encrypted channels with it since it may not have a CI CAM.

The D-Box is similar to the Dreambox in basic operation, in that you can flash them with images and they use similar emulators. Other than that, I'm afraid i know nothing about them as they are mostly used for things other than satellite.

I took a look at the Nokia d-box user guide (in German) and it is an interesting receiver. It has an Ethernet connector and smartcard slots with betacrypt support.
Very popular in Germany few years ago.
If the firmware has been altered, then you need to find out the version.
I suggest that you would take some photos to show the label with the model number and the connectors at the back so that we can identify the exact model.
davabirkenhead, what are you hoping to get with this box?
Start by asking your brother if he used it and on which satellites and channels.
Do you have a satellite system at present?
