first of all hi there and what a great source of info this place has, im chris live near bradford in west yorkshire and im looking to set up a sat system, at the moment ive got my un subscribed sky+ box and normal dish on the house wall and im wanting to be able to watch plenty of free channels from all over the world mainly for sports (football + motorsports) ive always wondered how it is when i go abroad i can watch just about any football match in the world but yet i cant over here in sunny england, and before you ask i know theres probably not much call for anyone wanting to watch LEEDS UNITED but i do :-ohcrap:-righton so any advice is welcome please, ive seen the dreambox's advertised and other box's but im slightly confused as to what i will need.
many thanks
chris

Point your dish at the rubbish tip, should pick up Leeds no problem :0)

Made me laugh, that - and I'm a Leeds fan too!

The mighty toffees! Thanks for Beckford. Only banter my old boss was Leeds Utd. I think you will struggle to see Leeds. Its just the Prem that can be picked up & FA cup however I'm new to this so someone with more experience can have more input

beckford hmmmmm yeah hope he's not too crocked for you this year, the one good thing about him was his goal against man utd!! dam i lost my voice that day down at old trafford, anyway back onto subject! i dont really expect to be able to see leeds on tv but the fa cup and prem matches and of course spanish league etc would be wonderfull if anyone can help.
cheers

For all Prem games there is Viasat with English commentry on 4.8e but you will need a 1.2m dish.

There is 13e for Nova, Sly Italy, Canal+, JSC Sport
19.2e for Sly Germany, digital+, LaLiga (probably more)

0.8w Thor also shows games

19.2 & 13e can be picked up on a smaller dish. I got the cheap one from b & q and have them on it & use my old sly dish for UK

and what receiver would i be needing for these? please

The Championship doesn't get the same coverage, as the premier League, from memory I think there were a few games on 13E. last season, but hopefully someone who watches championship football can help you out more.
I would try and go for a motorized dish setup, as it provides more options, but a fixed dish, with a number of LNB's could get you quite a few games. As for a receiver the choice is to wide, work out what you want it to do:
High Definition
PVR, hard drive to record to
Connect to your PC, for streaming movies
blind scan, for finding feeds
Twin tuner, for recording one channel while viewing another
What kind of budget are you considering?

Exactamento - A big chunk will be taken up by Subscription(s). Not cheap.

Free prem football is almost non-existent. Free football is mostly FA Cup, EUFA and second division quality leagues from across Europe. Free motorsport is available from your Sky box from Motors TV with a FreesatFromSky card and from Eurosport International (German edition) on 19.2 mostly the same as Eurosport HD and British Eurosport 1. Premier football and a lot of top quality motor racing (Except F1) are premium events and hence are subscription only with the exception of highlights only shows.
