It was reported as early as late October this year, but the latest figures confirm this is the worst outbreak ever.

750,000 are already estimated to have it, and schools near here are already closing following as a quarter of staff and pupils have it.

The symptoms are not nice, and anyone with them should stay indoors for three days and drink plenty of fluids since you will be losing them from both ends in large amounts.

Buy up a big amount of kitchen and toilet roll now, as well as the usual disinfectants.

Oh, and wash your hands whenever you can.

The school I work at has been hit hard over the last 2 weeks. Some of the staff havent wanted to eat a decent meal for well over a week after being ill.

Tuesday the school was one member of staff from having to run parts of the timetable with classes in the main hall due to lack of cover staff.

This is where many other Countries beat us in the UK hands-down, so to speak: One hand for faecal matter and the other for food. Never the twain shall meet.

Not so sure about that, both hands are used for food preparation. ;)

Now I feel sick .................. !

....and here was I trying to update my AVG database to include this......

And some of us use two hands for faecal matter....... :-crying

Far too much detail for my liking :-wow

Despite all the sick people at work Ive stayed disgustingly healthy (so far) :D

That will be the pure alcohol surging through your veins :-beer

Probably - a glass of whisky every night at bed time pickles many bugs :)

Eating plenty of Alliums helps too (onion, garlic, chives & leeks), there's something in them that is offensive to the bugs (and other people, but who cares!!) that fends them off and kills them pretty sharpish, so they can help with staying healthy, just make sure to stock up on gas masks due to the resulting emissions.... :-SBD

Basically, just go all out on garlicky & oniony curries, cos it's good for you... :D

Couldn't agree more. Alliums good. Damned good.

The authorities round here have closed two hospitals to inpatients owing to this, leaving one that has a reputation for other bugs in the wards, and rodents elsewhere.

This is exactly why I avoid Doctor's Surgeries and Hospitals like the plague: Poor hand washing, coughing over others .............. And the Patients are just as bad.

where i work people should know better about health issues but dont and see plenty of people not washing hands and the like.

hopefully i dont come down with it but some people at work kids are ill so most likely will go around the office.

same here i cant think last time i've been to the doctors, must one of these people that dont get affected.

Same as AS I work in an educational establishment and we have had (and still have!) some staff and kids off with it. Must cross my fingers on this.

Still, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, eh?

Not much use when you are excreting body waste from both ends.

And all I got was this lousy cough...
