An iconic English actor with over half a century of work who lived less than a mile from here. Francis appeared on television, radio, stage and in films.

His voice is probably familar to most of the civilised world, (100 million in China alone for the series Follow Me), but Captain Scarlet would be the children's favourite elsewhere.



But of course an appearance in Morecambe and Wise was not beneath him either.


 
And for others, eternally associated with super suave Paul Temple. A fine actor not afraid to have fun poked at him.

Too many falling of late ..
I suppose it's inevitable as one ages ..that you are more aware of names you know being added to the reapers checklist.

Loved seeing that first episode of Captain Scarlet again..
Sadly ...Says it all really doesn't it..
Assume everything is a threat ..and shoot it..
 
Is he the guy who did the sugar puffs ads in the 70s?
