Not So Retro - Nokia

I still have mine, so technically, the 3310 never went away, I did misplace its charger though, and I really think it could do with a new keypad, and the red LEDs replacing with something less obnoxious... :-doh
 
I think I've got one in the cupboard, but currently using a 2230 from around 2007. Still going well
 
It's not that long since we got rid of our Philips C12.

Well, it seems like HMD Global still did not make the effort to change the name of Microsoft’s factory in Vietnam, as the company apparently purchased rights to use some of Microsoft’s factories as well. Not in a cupboard, but behind a radiator, I wondered what the rattling was.

Its amazing to think how rapidly Nokia went from Hero to Zero, going all in on a Windows system on their smartphones was a big mistake.
 
Looks like a stylized version of the basic shape and button placement but that's about it, your right.

Screens too long without being pedantic it really is, screen on the original was more of a square. Reusing the model number and putting Snake on it does not make it a 3310!
 
I posted a picture of my one earlier. If Nokia is relying on the nostalgia they could have remoulded the 1000 series models with many of the later features.

Bit of a con, but if the phone last a month on standby, and a week in normal use then it will suit the other half.
 
Regardless of its capabilities I think it's a brilliant use of nostalgia to get publicity. And guess what? - it worked.
 
Publicity is one thing, actually selling the things and making the money back for developing them is another...:-rofl2
 
Dug my real 3310 out, slapped a GiffGaff SIM in and plugged in its charger, and, it still works after about 10 or 12 years of disuse... :D
