Your various IP addresses seem to put you in Qatar, but your location is stated as UK in your side profile. Which ic correct? We do insist on correct locations on this forum.

I was curious as C-band is almost unheard of in the UK!)

I have 2C-band satellites and 1 ku-band satellite working however when I try to do a blindscan on C-band on SF8008, the range does not change for the C-band satellite.

You probably need to go into the tuner menu and set it to 'Advanced'
Then enter the tuner menu and assign LNB1 to say ku and LNB2 to C Band, then you can assign a particular LNB to a satellite, as in my case LNB3 is C band and I have set it for 40W SES6, then when you enter the blind scan the search parameters will be correct.1.jpg2.jpg3.jpg4.jpg

This was very helpful and Thank you for the information. I think the issue was that for the C-band satellite, I had the LOF as User Defined instead of having C-band.

Also could someone tell me if this receiver can find Feeds just like the SX88+ ?

Ah good - Im pleased to see it was something simple to fix. Thank you for updating your location. (We have had cases in the past where we have tried to help someone only to find their location was incorrect which made all the help redundant)

We have a dedicated C-band section so if you would like to contribute what satellites & channels you can see you will be most welcome :)

Hopefully one of the others will be able to comment on the feeds query

Short and clear answer for the blindscan:
yes for normal transponders,
not for transponders in Multistream or T2MI.
This is the current situation; it may be improved with an update.

Yes, no problem

I thought I got the C-band thing to work but when I tried changing the LOF to C-band, the channels on C-band stopped working as there was no signal. As soon as I changed the LOF to User defined and put in 5750 for both LOF/L and LOF/H, the channels seem to work again.

To get both Horizontal and Vertical frequencies on a C-band satellite to work on enigma 2 for me, 2 separate satellites names are just chosen from the list on the receiver and the same port is given to both satellites since DiSEqC.

For 1 satellite name the user defined is given as 5750 for both LOF/L and LOF/H to get Vertical Frequencies and for another random satellite name the user defined is given as 5150 for both LOF/L and LOF/H to get Horizontal Frequencies. The threshold for both is set to 0.

This is how I get the C-band to work on SF8008. That is why I can't use blindscan for C-band on SF8008.

Any advice please?

Thank You.

.. sorry if i have missed this in earlier posts but can you tell me what size dish, Offset or PF you are using, an actual picture of the C-band lnb or lnbf and scalar ring that you are using to capture the C-band signals with

Ahh yes I see your problem. I use a voltage switching C band LNB (13/18) with the LOF at 5150
This will be a limitation on the E2 software, as most people use voltage switching polarity LNB's unless any one else can chip in here with a better configuration?
Will each of the satellites you have set up that is one for vertical and one horizontal not scan each polarity in blindscan? not ideal but might work.

I am using 1.8m prime focus and just a regular C-band lnb but for all the C-band satellites I need to use the method I mentioned above for enigma 2 receiver.

I have tried that and it does not work.

Most of the people have said that the SF8008 receiver can be used to get Feeds. But so far even for Ku band satellite I was not able to find any Feeds.

Does blindscan = feeds?

Or do feeds require special receivers like SX88+?

Depends where you are in the the world. Not a great deal of C Band feeds in Europe.
I have found a few at 47W and 58W used to carry a few, but that bird is not available to me, obstruction in the way.
Nothing special about the SX88 as regards to catching feeds, the SF8008 is capable of doing the same job.

which Is better - more sensitive Sf8008 or SF4008
Don't know, I only have the SF8008. The question I answered earlier was a comparison between the SX88 and SF8008.

the 8008 cann't receive radios with small sr.
example on 42 ° east.
11555 H 405
11558 H 410
11560 H 400
the 4008 can read these radios without problem (with old driver)
the 8008 only sees the frequency 11573 H 1800 which hides all the rest.
Hi bro
I want to ask you if you used octa 4008 , 8008
I want you to answer these questions please

1/ 8008 and 4008 have same sensitive tuner or not if not tell us which one is better

2/did 8008 and 4008 work with multi stream and DVB-S2X

3/ did 8008 and 4008 do blind scan

And thank you

Hi,
Am thinking about getting an SF8008. My main priority would be the box as a satellite receiver.
So I would ask what is it like picture wise on a SD transmission. Of course HD too.
Ease of use good?
Can it get the 12597V 10058 25/36 on 33east? This is in DVB-SX2/8PSK MPEG-4
Really in a nutshell it is a value for money receiver?

Many thanks in advance

If you have or ever owned an Enigma 2 receiver then it is no different as regards to menu structure. This receiver however has working blind scan, which I find is good. Picture quality is excellent, even on SD. As for 2SX I will try that transponder and report back. I have not tried its supposed capabilities in 2SX yet.

The linux kernels do not recognize DVB-S2X as a different system as it is an extension of DVB-S2. So any linux based STB will report DVB-S2X as DVB-S2 and will set all other parameters to Auto. The channels will be scanned normally but you won't have any info on the actual values like FEC etc!
