Now bang up to date with the image, but the lock up on a T2MI channels remains with these updates, manual, blind scan it makes no difference. the receiver has stopped searching at the first found T2MI channel on 40W and now will take about half an hour to go through the rest of the transponders, but down load no further channels. The only way I can get this to work is to NOT enable scan on the T2MI transponders then scan the tranponders one at a time in manual scan. Or I'm I missing something?? Lock up.jpg

You are not missing anything, blindscan should not have anything to do with T2-MI, since the reception of these channels is not done directly when searched but through decapsulation. Now what Enigma2 is forced to do in this case is search and decapsulate at the same time. Perhaps it could be possible with more code optimization (although highly unlikely) but it's not necessary. In my opinion T2-MI blindscan should be disabled, and activated only through manual search with given parameters.
In this case, blindscan finds the T2-MI frequency parameters, but it's impossible to find the necessary pid through blindscan, as this requires a search in the SDT tables too, which will slow down the scanning considerably.
As a workaround to this, perhaps an optimization of code with syncing and adding the T2-MI parameters in the found transponder with sync known transponders function should do the trick, but I don't know how feasible that would be since it will mess the scan on all other receivers except Octagon.

Thanks for the explanation, but even a manual scan does the same searching the XML file..

No, you are not "bang up to date" because the new drivers are not even committed yet.

This is not completely true. Blindscan will find the transponders. SF8008 doesn't need the PID if you supply it PID "0". And it will get the PLP_ID from satellites.xml if known. I hope in the future the Octagon blindscan executable will return the T2MI values.

Also, PID is not in SDT. In fact there is no SDT until the PID is opened. I.e. it is a transponder inside a transponder.

In my OpenViX T2MI test image all the T2MI channels are scanned, either doing a blindscan or a full satellite manual scan.

I'm happy to provide you and Scopus a copy of that image for testing if required.

This is already done. It doesn't mess with any other receivers, and anyway they can't scan the channels so would need astra-sm workaround.

That's nice to hear!
However there is still a big issue with T2-MI PLP ID on OpenATV, it returns 0 in all DVB-S2 services. This should also be restricted to SF8008 as it messes up with anyone who wants to display this indication on a skin (like mine).
And when a T2-MI value is entered (ie 1) the scan returns a strange value like 42338647. But these are issues I should better report to OpenATV directly!
