Oscam help please.

OK, I managed to get my Dreamboxes 500S (clones) working using CCcam and NewCS, with help from people on this site. I now have three boxes running at home, main one acting as a server/decoder(Sly) and two others in the bedrooms as clients.

Now as support for the CAM emulator appears to be stopped (Pick TV) and not wanting to be in a rush if I lose all chnnels at a later date, I thought now I had had a weeks break I would try and have a go at Oscam.

So some simple questions to start with. I have flashed one box with a new image of PLi Jade, so it is in effect blank. Is it best to download Oscam via the Dreambox, or as there maybe newer versions elsewhere, is it beter to manually download the files? If so where from, and coud someone point me to an idiots guide to make sure I get it on correctly.

I have downloaded details of what I then need to change (hopefully) to make this the server box. My other question is if I leave CCcam and NewCS on the other boxes (slaves) will they show Pick TV ok?

Finally any other software I should download to either the Server box or slave boxes? Hope I don´t sound too thick!

If the box decrypting the card is using OSCAM then you can use the other boxes on CCCam
 
Use Oscam DVB-API on all box's, google streamboard.
Oscam wiki has all the info and example you need.
I have been running two of my box's that way for a few weeks and it works great.
 
Did you have any issues getting it to start Sonic?

Have done all the config and then go to start oscam but it doesn't start, looks like it has but it hasn't. Permissions are all correct
 
No all fine, what platform are you using it on ?
 
Vix on the VU+. It all starts up, well it appears to, but then shuts down after a tenth of a second. It shows in active softcams for the blink of an eye.
 
I have read of a few users having issues with oscam and vix, I use Black Hole images and I compile my own emu packs.
If you want it for black hole just say and I will upload it for you via a host.
 
Ah right. If needs be I'll move off Vix but as it's working fine I'll stick with CCcam
 
Ok. Connected the DB to the internet and tried to load OSCam from the image providers database (PLi Jade), but its not there. Please please please let me know best/most stable image to download and which files go in which directory. Thank you.
