OSCAM - Switching from CCcam to DVB-API?

My Satellite Setup
VU+ Duo with ViX and OSCAM, Prof Revolution 7301 PCI Card, 2x Dreambox 500S, 80cm Technomate Dish with Inverto Black Ultra and TM-2600 DiSEqC Motor. Technomate TM-300D along with a few zone 1 minidishes that get moved regularly and a zone 2 for 19e a

I've got the box running on OSCAM and feeding it into CCcam but unfortunately CCcam keeps deciding it wants to read the card so keeps messing everything up so want to run it on DVB-API instead. I'm home in a few weeks so going to try and sort it all out so the family don't have to restart the cams every day. Is this easy enough to do?
 
Very easy and you will wish you did it a long time ago.

Ah good, will finally be able to see ECM times again and have the card on :)
 
This may sound like a bit of a thick question but but is dvb-api different altogether to cccam then?

I assume if you swap to dvb-api you wont be able to connect to cccam peers right?

You can still connect to CCcam peers.
 
Yes, finally did it this weekend. Everything I tried didn't work so used a pack already set up for my Sky card and modified it. Works much better than CCcam. Thanks for the help.
 
can someone explain what DVD-API is/does as I am also running oscam into cccam and having to start the cams manually every morning so cccam doesn't grab the card first. I assume from what i've read that it takes the place of cccam but not sure past that
 
At the moment you'll be using CCcam to read the card into OSCAM. DVBAPI just takes the place of CCcam

Correct, if you use the webinfo page to set it up you can click on the field you are changing which will take you to the oscam wiki page for specific info.
