Well yes...........but it does rather depend on what a certain person who has dishes littering his back garden wants to do with his smaller Channel Master. I feel a groundstand, actuator and polar mount may be on order shortly (though not if it's delivered by GLS)

Just finished making a new 3" groundstand and refurbishing a channel master polar mount, "all" I have to do now is save for the dish. Pete it may be an idea to see if you could get a small workshop or welder to make a groundstand for you - Mine is quite heavy and I would not like to pay the postage on it!

Thanks for that. Unfortunately Bob, my tame builder/heating engineer/welder (who actually welded for England, yes there is a welding competition) has decided to return to England, leaving his girlfriend for another slimmer model and leaving me with unfinished work. I'm sure he could have made one very quickly and easily. I don't think my French is up to trying to have one fabricated here, besides I've seen this on a French sat site which I'm sure will be up to the job.

Pete, that mount looks ok but it has a diameter of 80mm. The original channel master polar mount requires a 3" pole, I think the specs say a diameter of between 73mm - 76mm so not sure if it would fit. Perhaps someone else with experience of the polar mount could give advice. p.s. Just checked mine with a vernier and opened up the id measures 78mm, it may stretch a little more though.

Well I'd sooner have it tight rather than having to put shims in. Doesn't sound anything that an angle grinder and some lubrication couldn't cure!

I think mine are cheaper than that with the carriage, but I buy them in semi-bulk. My latest consignment is missing at the moment though. It's been in the system a week now and I rang them today and apparently the package is in Galicia due to an erroneous postcode.sonnetpete said:
