Pace DS810XE

I also believe that the Humax will leave the CI slots active also w/ the upgrade. It would not make any sense also, since the publicity that went into the Humax HD receiver, would be a real fraud to who bought the receiver in the first place!(HD tuner, CI slots, etc.). No word on the Pace DS810 in receiving(for sure, w/ a screen pic included), the BBC HD + Premeire HD + the CI slot active. More than one option is needed for the consumer to choose(price wise & function wise) & compare.

All you need is enough outputs from the various LNBs and a four way DiseqC switch. :)

PS. Shame, but we haven't seen 2old for a long time now.:(

The PAVE HD manual says it only does this
a) Sinle LNB
B) Bi Head Tone Burst
c) Tone Birst 2 inputs
d) DISeQC 2 inputs.

Is that ok for the machine to accept 4 to 1 LNB lead connection?
I might not have made my slef clear. I want to get rid of the skybox and technomate. UNPLUF all the current connection and feed in the HD Pace when it comes.

Its hard to write to explain what i want. here is my question in audio. please plese help.

I went today to the Portuguese import shop for the Pace here in Portugal & I asked them if I could have a demo of the DS810. They siad sure, no problem. Took my T-Rex along with me.;)

The receiver itself is totally different from when you see it from sat mags & web pictures. It has a nice matt-glossy finish w/ blue led display & on button.

The BBC HD is working as announced. Did a scan on Astra 19.2ºE and was pretty fast for a full search. Channel changing is o.k. The problem came when I put in my T-Rex. The message came on "Initializing CAM. Please wait..." I we did. 5 min. same. 10 min. same 15 min same message.:( Went to menu screen " CI module says:"no CI inserted". Try on/off, plugged off wall socket, same thing.O-st Tried hot boot w/ CAM, nada. Same message, same wait(25 min. this time!)'O' .

Then we did this: put in a Conax CAM, Inicialized, please wait... worked after 2 min. Tried mine on a Edison receiver that they also sell, after 5 min. started working!

Conclusion: Dragon CAM not compatible? Waiting time for exchange of Crypto id's too long w/ the Pace 810? Upgradable patch for using all available CAM's? Has anyone have a Pace DS810XE and have a CAM inserted that IS working? If working, what software ver. do you have? I hope I also helped in contributing with this post to whoever owns a Pace DS810XE, that this issue must be accounted for if you want to use a CAM(at leat a T-Rex for now).

Hi All,

Does anyone have any first hand experience with the PACE DS810XE?

I have read that the receiver has an CI for a CAM and one card reader.
What encryption system does the card reader support?

Is it possible to get the receiver patched (or is this too early) and what about multicrypt?

Thanks

Cupart,

As far as I know it the firmware correction has not come out yet for the Pace. I myself have a Humax HDCI-2000 because of a few reasons. The CI didnt support the Dragon CAM, the 200€ differance between the two receivers and the Pace not being able to tune into BBC HD for some reason.

Regards,
Jagost02

PACE DS810KP has a card reader (Nagra2 for Premiere) and 1 slot CI, can't receive BBC HD actually

PACE DS810XE has no card reader, 1 slot CI and can perfectly receive BBC HD

no multycrypt and no patch, at the moment...

Sooo, is the Dragon/T-Rex compatible or is it a case of wait a few months until it is compatible?

I want one of these boxes myself you see... :D

Nope , I can defo say that the dragon cam atm does not work , doesn't even recognize theres a cam in there .

Complete noob here, so excuse the question if its obvious.
Could I use the Conax cam and Digitalb card in this receiver?
Is this a useful receiver for a beginner to move on from SKy to a multisat set up with? I'm very new, so would be learning everything from scratch. Cheers,

Check the attachment futher up... It lists all the checked CAMs used in the PACE 810. In most cases any original Card will work in an original CAM no matter what receiver you're using as long as the receiver recognise the CAM.

Btw, Digitalb doesn't broadcast in HD so it wouldn't make much of a difference to you unless you want German free channels and BBC HD but this means you need to motorise :)

Bit of an update here .

If you load an original cam into the box first , which it recognizes , I've tried a Red Viaccess , then switch it to the Dragon Cam , this box works . Ive currently got it with Pred 3.49 , and its looking sweet :):):):):)
