Paksat 1R 38E

hi all trying to get new channels so i thought i would have a go at paksat 1R,well i was a bit shocked,to pick up any channels on that sat,anyway i got sun tv at 3986V,dhoom news at 4055V i also picked up aruj tv but no video or sound.

hi i forgot to say about the 31.5 degrees on the picture it was the old turksat at 31.5,i cannot change the degrees only the sat name.

Hmmm ...
Just possible as its within my scope ...but am a good bit further North ..
My cutoff point is 40 East for most C band channels ...as the troublesome tree comes into play beyond 42 degrees

I will obviously be giving it a go ...but reception is never favourable on Eastern birds..

A forlorn hope for me I'm sorry to say ..
Started at Express AM1 40East ..
Entered Sun TV's data into the the F15 ...and single stepped to the west about 30 clicks on the Vbox ..
That should easily cover Paksat 1R ...
Not a squeak ..
I guess that one is out of my range totally ..although the footprint map shows a distinct low power lobe extending accross the UK ..
cest la vie ..
I think you have total UK capture/bragging rights to that one Pride ;)

Done some tweaking ...and can just make out errr...something on the F15 at 3986V ...
verrry occasionally signal peakes to 1.5 db above the noise floor ..
Not enough for a signal ...but at least I know I'm on target..
Soooo frustrating ...
Perhaps its like Cholusat on 43W ..and has a peak point during the day ..
I'll keep monitoring ...you never know..

like the others you mentioned ...this one also produces occasional peaks to around 1.2 db above the noise ...
Nowhere near enough for the F15 ..but might yield results at your location..

well done - i tried for this sat once or twice in the past - but not a hint of signal --
i will be having another go at it -
but i,m 50 miles further north than Vipersan so i don,t hold much hope

Paksat-1R has only just gone into service to replace the dilapidated Paksat 1 (aka Palapa C1, HGS-3 and Anatolia 1 )

I would imagine Paksat 1 will be junked now - she was launched in 1996 & has had battery charging problems since 1998!

Now I'm off for a good sulk ;)
I can only assume its the same problems for me ...as I always have regarding Eastern reception..
Something out there is causing obstruction ..
be it electrical noise in the direction of Manchester ..or local interference ...or simply equipment not up to the task .
But I do know that the further East I go in Cband ..the less I acheive..
Never seen Yamal for example ..and gave up trying some time ago ..
anyway enough feeling sorry for myself ..
Congrats to both Pride and Nelson ..
Maybe I'll have another go ..when I've constructed my custom scalar plate..

..Just activated the Dish eye ...
No point in trying it last night ...and don't want to leave it on long ..
Sun too bright ..and possible camera burn .

It would appear there are still too many leaves on the troublesome tree..
Dish is currently parked at 38 East ..and as you can see at least half the dish is obscured to the east of centre..
No wonder I can't get a result..
Maybe in the winter ..once the branches are bare ..
Unless someone wants to sneak round my gaff one night ..and steal a tree

many thanks chaps,i will try 4340 VS, a couple of other transponders have about 47% quality but not enough to scan,i found Dhoom News to be the strongest last night at 53% quality but Sun TV at about 51% quality,the Sun TV came in a bit more when i moved the dish a bit more to the west,have you noticed that Nelson_B. cheers

no i don,t notice that on my setup -- but both receivable transponders are stronger here for me tonight -
but i get no hint of signal from any other transponders that i have tried -

i,v looked at this sat a few times during the past week -- and i no longer get- dhoom news at 4055V and it was the stronger of the two that i could receive ( can you still receive it ? )
i,m only picking up sun t.v. now - and its very weak here recently
