Paksat 1R 38E

Yep ..still mighty leafy..but a lot of gusty wind today ..so maybe later ?
I do get a hint of signal from Capital...zero to 1.5 db in occasional bursts..

hi nelson_b put back c-band back on and tried Paksat and picked up four channels,channel 5,WAQT,AJK and Capital.cheers

Unfortunately my own TT stops me getting 38E except in my case it's the trunk and not the leaves. :-crying

It's a real struggle to get anything beyond 26E all the time this tree is still standing, there are a few gaps around 40E and I used to get the Russians on 40E C band but 38 just isn't strong enough to penetrate the gaps or is directly behind the trunk.

this satellite throws up odd results --- l.o.l.
i cant get any of the channels i could get last month --
but a new frequency ( for me ) came up on a blind scan tonight -

3960 V 7234 3 channels

Followed up on the phone call nudge...but sad to say ..I still can't get anything from Paksat..
I guess it's gonna take something close to magic or freakish indeed to find this bird again at my location.

Hello @Vipersan and all the best from Finland! I am new here but you are "familiar" as I checked every single topic here carefully, before I bought my new 2.3m pf some time ago.

But Paksat (38E); not any life here. Other C-band satellites gives few till more channels 5W - 80E but Rascom 2.9E, 38E and 62E no signals.

a quick look here just now - the 3 channels iv, had on 3960 V 7234 most days for the past week are showing no signal at all today ----

but - 3785 V 2799 -- A.J.K. - TV is back for me now - and showing a full "1db" more signal than
3960 V 7234 was .

there is no sensible pattern to my results from this satellite.

or from any other transponder on this sat -- i thought the l.n.b. might have failed - but a test on a linear t.p. on another sat shows it is o.k.

i,m sure something will pop up again sometime --------

Hi Nelson ...and Ironically..AJK is the only thing I have locked so far ..and the lock lasted approx 3 minutes ..
approx 11:40 AM..
Then dropped below threshold ..and is currently building again ..so possibly more intermittent locks to come..
Grabbed my camera and just managed a snap before it vanished.
A seriously frustrating fringe bird this one..
..Oh ..btw ..I was on Target with Christina the whole time...just never had a lock since the days of Oxygene.

another t.p shown up from paksat tonight on a blind scan --
4055 V 6999 PTV - 3 channels , the F15 showed them as encrypted but one was clear
low signal though - partial picture breakup -- i went out to clear 1/2 in of snow off the l.n.b cover -
( from a shower we had earlier) to improve things - and can no longer get a lock ??? most odd.

hi nelson i will try later rain at the moment,its a strange bird, when you pick channels up and get a reasonable gain its as if they turn the power down then you get nowt its just not constant.

first chance for weeks to scan under clear skies here tonight -
so had a look at "hard to get" Paksat -
no lock on previous channels -- but Kook tv,s new frequency popped up on a blind search .

i,m right on the edge of possible reception here --

i still have Kook tv today -- and AJK also with a stronger signal --
i often can get AJK during the day - but not night time -- there seems to be a very sudden and total signal loss early evening -- i,m thinking that its a part time channel and maybe the T.p is switched off at nights --

a new channel popped up from here tonight for me --
ROHI PK - 4098 V 3255 signal is quite weak - but giving a stable picture .

the only constant channel though - from this sat is JALWA (music video,s)
3825 V 2799
i,v been receiving JALWA at around 7 db (24/7) - for well over a month now --

i wish more channels on this sat would show this kind of signal strength.
