Passion HD not booting

Hello all,

When i switch on my passion receiver its shows on the front panel
Loader V15

Flashing every second and nothing else

Impossible to load firmware by Usb

When i insert a usb stick, on the front panel usb will light in blue and thats all

Do you think that it can be a hardware PSU problem ?

Tried to find a soluce on the forum but not find anyway

I have read all the threads on the forum including this one

The capacitors seems to be OK but tomorrow il will replace the

C201 and C205 with 2200µF 16v instead of 10V
C204 and C206 with 1000µF 16V instead of 10V

I will post here the result

Most likely one of those, judging by the follow-ups on the thread referred to.

None of the four capacitors have sign of use

So its more easy to change all instead of one

Soldering one or four is the same

Hi All

Here is the result

The four capacitors have been checked after desoldering

There are good

Replacing all the fours with same values but in 16V instead of 10V

No luck with that

The OK button still ligth in blue and on the front panel loader v15 still flashing

Any others ideas ?

OK, that was not effort wasted. Replacing the capacitors has removed a major cause of failure in the Passion. I assume you have tried re-sending the Loader with the USB stick?

Yes of course

Tried both loader and firmware

When i insert the usb stick, the only thing is the blue usb flashing on front panel

There is 5V on usb and the usb stick is not illuminated when inserted

Perhaps a eeprom problem because of the loader v15 flashing who search the firmware

I will try to mesure the VCC on the eeprom tomorrow

If it is a corrupt eeprom, you will have to send it for repair, either to where you bought it, or Fortec Star UK.
