It's 3 years 5months, yes tried with nothing but memory connected, still nothing, no beep or splash screen.

Given up on it and spent some more money on a new board cpu and memory.

I should get it on Friday. Fingers crossed.

If you can get the exact same type MB for that unit it will be a direct drop in, otherwise it's a new install of the OS.

The new mobo is an MSI Z270-A PRO Socket 1151 ATX, the cpu is Intel Core i3-7100 (3.9GHz) Socket 1151 (kaby lake) core unlocked cpu so it can be over clocked. According to the reviews it handles 4K Netflix, 8gb of ddr4 HyperX FURY Black 4GB (1 x 4G:cool: Memory Module 2400 x2.

Inc delivery £284.99 dpd 1 hour slot. Should be Friday.

Hopefully msi mobos will play nicely with the tbs card, as from memory it was the gigabyte boards that had troubles.

Just quickly, did you remove absolutely everything from the motherboard connectors, including the RAM, Li-ion battery AND SSD drive ?

Not necessarily, I managed to change an entire system (from an Intel Core2Duo on an ASrock board to an AMD FX8350e on an Asus board) of mine without reinstalling Windows7, I just had to slipstream in some drivers to get it to boot up and not BSOD, and it's worked great to date... :)

I am hoping to use the same os (windows10) on the new board. Hopefully it will just be a driver issue.
