As per the title, I have a 42 LG screen on the bench where someone has damaged the VGA input, breaking off a lead screw into the connector, presumably by dropping the TV off a stand. This has also taken out one or more of the important signal lines so the image is now pink, or red, or green, depending on how one pushes the cable into the socket, never white though.

I cannot get the remains of the bolt out of the thread, and having removed the socket from the PCB completely to replace, I cannot find another from any supplier, though there are plenty out there that are 90 degree fitting.

So, where can I get a similar straight through VGA circuit board variety ? I really don't want to pay the going rate for a new PCB.

Thanks in advance.

You could always check the local tip, you'd be amazed at the number of televisions, some reasonably new, that are thrown away, and now they have to be stored, in a building, ready for proper disposal.
Also check any local repair shops, our local telecentre has quite a few useful spare parts, and they'll order stuff, for me, as some manufacturers, and suppliers, will only sell to registered shops, not direct to the customer.

I suppose I could hammer it into place and ask the client to squash the end of the VGA cable to fit.
I wasn't suggesting to use this specific connector. I gave you RS Connector as a components supplier and to check if they have exactly what you need.

I had mentioned 'any supplier' in the initial post, having run through the usual suspects (Farnell / CPC/ RS / Rapid / etc.)

It's a start, though ideally it needs to have the two solder down points to the PCB (and threaded bolt holes), but yes, that might do if I get no joy elsewhere (down the civic amenities this weekend) .

Thanks

Also it seems easier to get a Male D-SUB HD15 PCB mount (Straight through/180 Degrees) another option and use a Gender Changer?

Have you looked into Digikey??? They are a US based electronics supplier, but have an office/warehouse in the UK.
