Picture broken up while watching Sky+

Was happily watching a program on tv earlier this evening when it disappeared to be replaced with a dark blue screen and black pixels.

I first thought it was the bad weather affecting the picture so went to the Sky+ planner which viewed perfectly well, but when I clicked on play to view one of the earlier recorded programs, it displayed a similar pixelated view.

It can't be the tv because the Sky+ menus can still be viewed and we still have sound of the programs being played and Sky+ is still recording things because we can still hear the sound - just no picture.

I can't check the tv with the ariel because we threw it away when we moved to sky.

Have enclosed a few screen shots of the images we are seeing!!!

Any ideas anyone because much as I curse sky adverts, they are still better than the current view.

Thomson Sky+ Box, is it?


Anyway, before possibly being the harbinger of doom, have you tried rebooting - disconnect from mains for ten seconds or so.
 
Not sure which make it is, the Sky installer fitted it, you can see it at the bottom of the first photo.
 
Well it doesn't exactly look recent.

When was it fitted?
 
Just had a look for the manual and found it, it was fitted in December 2007, the manual says that it was manufactured by Pace Micro Technology plc if that's any help.

UPDATE: Just read your earlier post and pulled the plug out for a couple of minutes - SUCCESS - Now why didn't I think of doing that!!!
