A few days back when I first joined this enthusiastic and very knowledgeable forum I didn't know zip about satellite tv, I still don't to be sure, but through the generosity of members I'm much better informed about what will best suit my needs. So much so that I've now ordered most of my stuff through the forum sponsors with much greater confidence. Thanks guys.

I set up a new folder called 'Sats' in my browser bookmark manager and then searched through the posts inside Dish Setup forum. Any posts which caught my interest where bookmarked and added to the folder ensuring all my sat stuff was easy and quick to locate and refer back to. You will do a lot of the latter.

First off, I would strongly recommend reading every sticky.
In addition, Satelliteman has two highly informative links on his signature. But you have to cut him some slack for his enthusiastic support for penta dishes. It's contagious and I've ordered one!

Next, use the search feature after picking out interesting items in the stickies to investigate further. It's all straightforward.

Check out these links for example:
"Penta 68 or 80cm dish"
"Fracarro Penta 85cm Reception @ 55 North 8 West"

And don't forget to look at the forum for pictures of member's installations to pick out little details of interest that words are not so clear upon.

Nothing more I can add here since I'm waiting for the postman myself - but I'm looking forward to the w/e!! So it will probably be sheeting down with rain then since the last 3 weeks have been a drought here. But that's life! LOL.
