My Satellite Setup
Dreambox 800 HD Sonicview 8000, 4DTV, Sonicview 360, I-link 2000, Pansat 9200, Pansat 6000
My Location
Mexico
I googled and nothing clear
and the Download from internet addon does not work because the stupid dream box cannot conect to the internet.

on the Dreambox I transfered the files to the VAR folder and exectued the .sh files
Im using this files I already configured the config file
NewCS167_CCcam212_nab.tgz

I transfered those folders to the dreambox


please tell what is next I dont know anythig about Linux

A Dreambox is clearly not for you I'm afraid. There's plenty of tutorials on the site , I suggest you spend a week reading them. The first thing you need to do is get your box on the internet. It's essential !
 
Did you use the set up wizard when you first got the box?This sets up the basics for you,picture,internet access etc.
 
Buddy I have read a ton of stuff, just dreambox crashes, it freezes it gives me the green screen of death, and it takes a lot of time to boot up, really its a piece of shit, I have a lot of other recievers and you just hook themup to the internet and your watching tv. NOTHING to configure
like my SONICVIEW 8000and the ihub, and other recievers you just hit record and your recording but NOt with dreambox you have to configure it from the DCC, but if you cannot conect to a PC your screwed.

and also I try various ways to conect to the internet and piece of shit DOES NOT WANT TO.
I tried conecting it directly to the cablemodem, with a switch, conecting it to the PC and it gave me socket errors, even tough the Network test it gives me ALL GREEN LIGHTS.


Yes the easy way to install a cam is to install it from the internet, and your done, but I cannot conect to the Internet or to a PC to the DCC.

SO IM FED UP
WHY WOULD YOU BUILD A box that is not ready to use, when taken out of the box?
 
Also buddy other recievers you dont have to study a week to use them, i have a life and a job really

start by getting your network working together with internet access, it's not rocket science !!

I got my both my DM800 and DM7020 working just by reading these stickies

A Dreambox is a high end enthusiasts stb it is not intended to be for the average Joe Public who doesn't have the patience to read the basic setup guide (referred to on this forum as the idiots guide). I believe you need at least three months to get to grips with a Dreambox and even then you are considered a new user
 
you call watching youtube videos and other addon nonsenee high end?

I bought this box to be able to record S KY stream that is all,

You will not get any personal support as this is a forum, in which everyone contributes, and we do not allow threads offering money to set up their dreambox.
A dreambox is the high end enthusiasts receiver, which requires time, patience and lots of study.
Try to work on one thing at a time, starting with the basics, as mentioned it could take weeks of playing just to get the basics working properly.

You will not get any personal support on this forum, and if you continue asking your account will be suspended.

If you dont want to take several weeks to get to grips with the receiver then I suggest very strongly that you stick it on fleabay and get shot of it because this receiver is not for you.

If you want to take a receiver out of its packaging box and do off air recordings the same night then buy the dedicated pvr receiver for whichever pay service you are interested in.
