Please Help: Problems Cascading Diseqc

My Satellite Setup
VU+ Duo (Open PLi) Sats: Telstar 12, Atlantic Bird 3 (C), Sirius 4.8E, Eutelsat W3A, Eutelsat W2A and Intelsat 7 & 10 (C & Ku)

Ladies and Gents!

I have an SAR 411 and an SUR 211 F Diseqc Switches


Here is the setup in short

Intelsat 7/10 (Ku) - Dual LNB connected to MCA DSD 990 and DM800

Intelsat 7/10 (C) - Single LNB connected to DM800

Eutelsat W3A (Ku) - Single LNB connected to DM800

Eutelsat W2A (Ku) - Single LNB connected to DM800

Sirius 4.8E (Ku) - Dual LNB connected to TOPTV and DM800


The SAR 411 is the main Diseqc Switch for the DM800, connected to the following sats

AA = EutW3A
AB = Int7/10 Ku
BA = EutW2A
BB = Int7/10 C

with DSD 990 = Int7/10 Ku
and TOP TV = Sirius

Now I have put a dual LNB on the Sirius Dish, and would like to add this to my DM800. The problem is that all the four ports are taken
on the Diseqc switch, so I dusted off a two port SUR 211 F diseqc switch from a long time ago, and would love to use it for cascading purposes.

I have already set it up (please see pic) , it's just that it is not a voila moment ... does anyone know what I am doing wrong.

You have not said how you are trying to control the newly inserted switch.

It needs to be set to uncommitted I believe, and then the appropriate diseqc 1.1 commands also sent.
 
SUR 211 F is uncommitted (and for indoor use only) and should go inline first. SAR 411 F is committed (and for indoor use only) and should be placed between the SUR 211 and the dishes. For help with getting the Dreambox to control them ask Hakon.
 
Hi Robbo, pardon my ignorance ... I use the GEMINI 4.7 image on a DM800. Originally when I only had the SAR 411 F, I used the diseqc 1.1 to control all the connected satellites. So first satellite is AA, 2nd BA and so forth. Now that I have connected the SUR 211 F to port 3 (BA), I am not sure what to do next.

AA, BA and so forth are the diseqc 1.0 designations for the positions on Dreamboxes I believe, not Diseqc 1.1.


The PDF for the switch says the SUR 211 has a selector switch, with the 1st position being 1st uncommitted switch, so that ties in , with putting it in first before the 4 way.

I'm no expert at this myself ...but am fairly sure you can't switch an uncommited switch when placed _after_ the diseqc switch ..
From what I have read It should go immediately after the Dreambox receiver and before the diseqc 4 way switch ..

I think this will be the right settings for you (For the 3 first LNB you can choose DiSEqC 1.0 ,it makes it a little bit easyer for you)
