Rumour has it that the French CanalSatellite on 19.°E will be updating to a more secure form of TPScrypt soon. Many of the CanalSatellite channels are simulcrypted with the notoriously insecure V**ccess 2.3 for use in cable systems.

Canal Satellite has now implemented additional encryption on some of its services to prevent pirate viewers exploiting the weaknesses of TPScrypt. Most Canal Satellite channels are simulcrypted in TPScrypt for the benefit of cable services. The new system uses Thalescrypt and requires additional equipment to be installed at each cable headend.
