I have never heard anything about any PV channels being "compromised". You are not mistaking this with BFBS, who are not using PowerVu, are you?

No, I am not mistaken, I am referring to PowerVu in a Scientific Atlanta decoder.

I did not say it could be opened, I said it was no longer totally secure, there is a subtle difference.

. Changing the encryption algorithm would not KO this method as far as I am aware, I could be wrong on that though?

A suitably configured dreambox, router and satellite dish pointed at the correct satellite allow viewing of one of the more desirable channels

That says its open to me. Cant see what could be desirable to me though - all the PV stuff is deeply uninteresting as far as Im concerned :D

eg Quite why anyone would want to watch the Yankee war machine crap is beyond me :-rofl2

I was not referring to the American Networks that use PowerVu as desirable, I was referring to something closer to home. I supose it depends on the viewer, desirable to some is a turn off to others.

If it's the one I think you mean, it wouldn't be worth the effort!

Just a suggestion, it might be wise to use the thread in SH, before we get peeps asking/posting keys.

Anyone asking will be given a not very festive kick up the backside :D

Oh and whilst I remember please avoid any references to the PV Yankie War Machine channels - they have been known to contact us in the past for one reason and another.
