Pre-loved Motor: Any Good?

I think the thread views counter only updates every few hours - I regularly see threads with zero views when Ive had a look at it.

Just noticed this thread. It's a Precision dish (90cm) coupled with a very good horizon motor, and was probably supplied as part of a Chaparral Monterey system about 20 years ago.

Unless the dish is warped, everything apart from the LNB, and possibly the reedswitch should be salvageable.

Is there possibility for this issue to be solved? Its pretty frustrating and irritating to see that number of views havent changed for last 5 days!!! If this cant be solved, then I think theres no need for publishing feeds anymore, at least not by me.

We are looking into why this is happening and I believe I have found the answer, the thread view totals obviously don't update instantly, as that would be a massive amount of work for the server, there is a "chron job" set up which updates them periodically, this looks to have been set with an overly long interval as default, have just changed it to see what happens. Unfortunately Chris is on holiday with his family at the moment.

OK, just run the chron job and looks like it has worked. :)

Yeah, it really works, m8, nice to see that the issue have been solved. Great work, Rolf! Respect! :-applause

Thanks C/H, ive still not got round to take it down but speaking to the chap who bought it over the weekend yes your correct its about 20 years old he said the whole setup cost him around 2000 pound way back when,

The dish is very inclined what would it have been pointing at please KU etc ? and is there still any signals to look for if I can get it to work please,

Also what would my options be if I can make it work to get the best from this dish today please. would the motor if it works be able to drive a 1.2 dish without any problems do you think ?.

It looks like it's pointing at the major part of the arc (anywhere between 5E and 19E)

Not majorly inclined at all
