Hello,

I have a Sky subscription since 2 years in Germany, but now I have a problem with the credit card. My credit will expire in 15 days and I get no connection to seller in the UK, who can update these details.
Will the subscription continue to work without an update of these details ?
Or must the details be updated ?

Thanks for the help!

Greetings
Tim

Not sure what you can do, as it depends on what information you have about the account.

If you have the address at which the card was ordered, then you should be able to ring Sky and give them the new information. If you don't, then can you not trace the company from where you bought the card?

Thanks for the answer.
I have no address of the company or the address, where the sky card was ordered.
I have only the e-mail address of the company, but they do not answer.
The service was previously very good for 3 years. They charged only 100,-Euro one time payment.

Perhaps this is a case for posting the name of the company, they may have changed deatalis and one of our members may have the new details.

100 Euros for three years of S*Y through a third party!

What package are you on as that sounds cheap or are you paying a monthly fee on top?

I think he meant they charged him 100 euro for supplying the card/package.Because he said his credit card is expiring, that means he is paying for the subscription to sky.:)

even though your credit card will expire and assuming your credit card supplier have supplied a new card (ie you are continuing with that company) they should continue to make the monthly payments as they should know it is a monthly on going payment.

Under card holder not present regulations the start date and expiry date must be correct or the authorisation of the transaction will fail. If however your old card expires after the new card's start date both will be useable in the short term.

Thats what i though because in a shop or online if the dates are not the same as on the card you have the transaction will fail and i thought since feb 14th when the shops swiched to chip and pin only all online and over the phone transations needed the three digit number on the back of the card aswell and it changes with every card you get

This has started me thinking, because my sister's subscription is being paid on a credit card which was replaced with an updated card 3 months ago, no contact from Sky and the payments are still coming out of the account.

Tim,
If i was you then i would ring sky and just give them the present details, tell them your card is expiring and tell them all details will be the same, but you just wanted to give the the new card number and expiry date.

with a bit of luck they will just do that.
thats what just happened to me for both my online DVD rental and Newsgroup access.
even though im in the UK anyway... i was only asked the new card details :)

good luck

I had this happen to me about a year ago. At first the payments just carried on as usual, although I even got a new card number with the new card. Mastercard continued in letting the payments continue for 4 months or so. Then they just stopped. The annoying part was that neither SKY nor Mastercard contacted me and told me about this until about 6 months later. It was then SKY who contacted me and told me that I had £320 outstanding and that if I didn't pay it within 30 days my sub would be cancelled :-doh!

Wasn't too much of a problem as I had the payments coming out of an extra account that I use for all subscriptions that run in the UK and the money was still on it. Still pretty poor though. After a month or so would be better because even if they had only waited 2 or 3 months it's still quite a high amount.

I had to submit the new card details in writing. They sent me out a form and I had to fill it out, sign it and send it back.

Methos.
