To make it more easy to turn from far east and west for that motor , you should attach the dish as close as possible to that motor .
Cant you use the holes (?) more near the motor pipe ? Maybe you need to cut that clamp part .mount 110 short.webp

Was gifted an 80cm light weight dish today and a Silver Crest receiver and lnb, ( also audio alignment aid! )
Put the dish on the new motor set-up and gained 1dB on the 60cm dish, so was hopeful of a result. Motor had no problem with the weight of the dish, east to west no problem, BUT dish was cr*p and lost signals after about 30 degree either way.
60cm now back on
Have concluded motor is not good as misses 23.5 with any dish, 60 cm works 68E to 45 W with slight compensation.
Need better motor and better dish so need to invest some funds, once I´ve made some with real jobs!

Think you are correct, I´ve two of those dishes with the same mounts, both recycled so if it goes wrong no problem. They are well known here for having cr*p mounts so will try and re-engineer, nothing to lose! ( Even on static mount they are useless in the wind )

Thinking about it, the holes are not in the right place for a simple " cut and shut ", but I love re-engineering things and havn´t had a good challenge for a while ( except staying married )

Just ordered a dark motor from World of Sat, will let you know how I get on when it arrives via the pidgeon

Had to cancel the dark motor from World of Sat. They originally stated 20 pound delivery, but when the order was being processed they advised DHL wanted 42 pounds for the delivery, 7 pounds more than the item!
Have just ordered from another supplier via e-bay es with a 9 pound delivery charge. Estimated 4 - 7 Aug delivery.
Will resume playing when new motor arrives

IMHO the dark motor is probably the best Usals out there ..
Very solid and very reliable ..
I have 2 of these in use ..and have survived much wind torture..
One of which has a TD110 on it and very exposed ..
As we all know ..these are nice dishes but very weighty ..
I would even consider driving a 1.2 on a dark motor ..
unlike the SG2100 ...which imo would suffer..

Within 2 hours of order being placed I have received confirmation of dispatch. Not bad at all.
Shame World of Sat are using such an expensive delivery service as I would rather have bought it from a forum sponser. With the postage only being £9 , although the unit was £5 more, it has actually worked less money than WoS with the original quote of £20 delivery, let alone the revised £42

my choice would be the STAB100/120 over the darkmotor although saying that the only fault with the darkmotor imo is you need the hands of a 7 year old to get in were the f connectors screw on and the bracket metal that clamps the pole is made from soft metal but this can be said of all the usals motors imo. i have one running at my brothers carrying a TD11o and it never misses a beat... i also have one of the early ones here carrying an orbital 80cm and that to is a cracking motor. my main gripe with the motech/technomate motors is the bracketry rusts far to quickly. ive seen stab motors that are 10 years old but look almost like new. cant see rustproofing being an issue for the OP though as he is in spain, rgds

Apologies, this was due to a noncense remote area surcharge DHL impose. Our international rates are all be re-vamped very soon.

I don´t consider 20 minutes from Alicante - Elche airport remote.
Nothing to do with that. If you don't live in a town centre DHL apply this stupid surcharge. I live less than 10 minutes from the main base (Pla de Vallonga) and still am subject to this. And to make things worse they always write delivery attempted on the website and I have to pick it up in person anyway, so I pay the remote charge and they still don't bring it.

Never get that problem with tnt, ups, mrw etc. only dhl. have some idea what I would do............
( PS Don´t start a sentence with And ! )
Yes Martin, I´m on that one again!
( But I don´t mean it )
