Problems with receiving ITV 1

What are the chances of all of them having dodgy Caps, I wonder?

Router first, PSUs second ............... !! Nice left-field move. Almost matches mine :cool:




Edit: Mind you, failing PSUs could be why they were on the meercat.
 
Right Frok this we can make the following definite pints. You have the correct type of card and as you can see the C5 etc channels the card is correctly authorised.

Therefore it HAS to be a local problem to you - interference, damaged cable, failing receiver (unlikely as you have tried 3 boxes)

This also means theres no point buying any more boxes or cards next time you are back in the UK....

Unplug the boxes from EVERYTHING, Then take the tops off the receivers and see if there are any obvious bulging or leaking capacitors around the power supply areas.

Keep your fingers clear and dont touch the electronics - they can store enough juice to give you a nasty belt for hours after they are unplugged

right tomorrow morning i will get the screwdrivers out and embark on my mission.
let hope its the router causing me problems.
 
One thing has occurred to me -

you did the Add Channels bit ok and stored the ITV's on 11973V ok. You are then trying to watch them via Other Channels and not on the epg arent you (Services 6 on normal boxes, Services 0 on Sky+ boxes)

services 7 on normal boxes

The ITV you have stored in other channels,what regions are they ?
 
So as I undeerstand it....
The other FTV channels, five fiver five usa sky3, are coming thru OK...so the card is activated.

11973 channels show when adding and displlay the "call to upgrade" message.
So if he is getting a message on the screen on the 11973 channesl, then the box is getting a signal on those channels - otherwise he would get "no signal" or mabe even "technical fault".

So perhaps the card is faulty (all 3 cards...possible, but not likely), or the cards have not truely come out of hibernation, as as we know the channels came "wake up" at different times, so perhaps the card just needs to be left in the box for a while longer for the card to wake up fully.
 
Correct,so its doing all the right things. It does not make sense then as you have the signal. Did you manual tune CH4 on 12.480 V and it works ?

hello to all
i called him on the phone and his dish and lnb are fine and the aligenment is fine as well.
his card is not mated to the box.
he is running a 1.20 to 1.40 dish and is receiving some channels.
he loaded the 12.402 freq and saved it as well proof that the dish is working.
the card has been deactvates and picks up some free channels.
free view or ch 103 can not be picked up here on astra 2 d even with a 4 meter dish at all here.
my friend will be taking the box and geting a proper card and contact set up and then he will be ok after that.
all the e-4 loaded.ch 5 and fiver as well as ITV channels all loaded in the others no problem.
when he goes to the itv loaded it says call" the provider to upgrade".
he is not picking up sky atlantic or living at all because card in not active.

Mating is not required for "FTV only" Cards = Pairing is only required for Subscription level access to Premium Channels.

Morning Forum,

i have turned the wireless router off and no luck checked what i think i should be checking on the psu and all seems ok. I guess i have to live without itv p***ed off but hey can't have everything.
I will try and get my friend to subscribe to sky for me when i go to uk in march and bring the box out with me then and see. Unless anyone here has another idea.
I still cannot believe that the hd box i had came from a family member with the original card in it. When i initially plugged it in with ralph it brought up wrong card in the box then after a few hours the channels came on with but no itv.
I then purchased another receiver through a friend Pace ds430n exactly the same put the card in it and everything comes on but no itv.
Final attempt i thought! was to purchase a Pace 2600 c1 with a white card guess what no itv.

The whole thing is strange i think i need to give up and do as ralph suggests and just try and get a subscription.
 
How long have the Cards been left in the boxes?

It is proven fact that not all permissions become active simultaneously and if a box/card combo is powered down for any reason, it can take up to 72 hours or so for all permissions to be reinstated.

You don't turn the box/boxes off at night, do you? Best to leave them in Standby.
